Hello beautiful people! I would absolutely love to hear what topics, deep dives, and wellness tips you’re interested in me discussing. So if you have a minute to spare, please leave a comment below 🫶🏻
📚 WHAT TO READ: I’m on the second book in the Fourth Wing series, Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros. Once again, if you read and liked ACOTAR then you need to read this. It’s the exact kind of page turner that I need for these middle of the night feedings. *I’ve been reading on the Kindle app while breastfeeding so I can turn my phone on airplane mode and reduce Celia’s EMF exposure.
📺 WHAT TO WATCH: I love the YouTube channel “Business Insider” for their deep dives into food and how things are made. Their recent video “Why 70% Of Kids Food Is Ultra Processed And How It Affects Their Health” was fantastic. I knew that pouches were bad due to their mold risk, but I wasn’t aware of the sugar content!! Eye opening.
🎧 WHAT TO LISTEN TO: Guest Courtney Swan discusses “glyphosate, GMOs, how to start shopping for real food, and why parents need to choose between wellness and illness for their kids” on the podcast episode Glyphosate & Corruption in American Food 101 by Culture Apothecary .
Lost on how to start eating healthier? Simply perimeter shop the grocery store. It’s a simple concept, you avoid the inner isles of the store. Yes, there are a ton of healthy foods in that area, but if you are truly at a loss on how to eat “healthy”, then stick to the perimeter. There you’ll find produce, meat, and dairy; aka the only things you “need”.
Today I’m discussing my favorite non-toxic swaps for you, your home, and your baby. Whether you’re just living life, trying to conceive, pregnant, or have a whole family, we ALL can greatly benefit from reducing our toxin load.

Some recipes for homemade cleaning products.
Imagine that you’re holding a glass of water. Once the glass fills up and spills over, you have toxin overload and get health or inflammatory issues. It’s not that a single toxin will make the glass fill up, but it’s a compounding effect. If you are constantly inundated with toxins then your cup is constantly filling up. From the clothes you wear to the quality of your air, you want to reduce the toxin load as much as possible to keep health and inflammatory issues at bay.
✨I’ll cover food toxins in another newsletter
I’m including my “Top Swaps for” you, your home, and your baby. This is by no means an exhaustive list of my swaps, but it’s a fantastic place to start! Even if you just pick one item from each list you may greatly reduce your toxin load.
Some common toxins and what they do:
Formaldehyde: A known carcinogen. Found in furniture! So important to purchase items that are Green Guard certified, especially for babies. Nestig, Babyletto, and Davinci all carry certified items.
Parabens and Phthalates: Can disrupt hormones and harm the reproductive system and are especially dangerous while pregnant when baby’s organs and neural system are developing.
PFAS: A long-chain chemical that has been linked to cancer and are found in cosmetics, non-stick cookware, and athletic wear. Yes, Lululemon and other moisture wicking clothing that so many women put directly against their genitals can contain PFAs.
