I’m inflamed, you’re inflamed, I mean look around… you can literally see the inflammation on people everywhere. From eczema and heartburn to arthritis and fatigue, chronic inflammation is running rampant. I wanted to create this deep dive or “guide” not from an expert perspective, but more just from my own learning through a lifetime of navigating chronic inflammation and chronic illness.
How I Got Here
It wasn’t until a couple years ago that I truly realized how much inflammation I was dealing with. Which hindsight sounds so silly to say. The signs were there, I just didn’t know what to look for. A quick background, I was born with two bladders, had 3 renal reconstructions by age 2, lived in the hospital until age four, and then was in and out well… my whole life up until adulthood.
In the thick of my teenage, pill ridden years, I was constantly downing Omeprazole, looking for any relief I could get. My skin was dry, itchy, eczema prone. But alas, I didn’t know what was going on.
It wasn’t until age 26ish that I put the puzzle together. My tear ducts were clogged with puss, I had a clogged salivary gland, eczema all over my arms and face, heart burn, you name it. I finally realized, wow, I’m dealing with intense whole body inflammation.
So I dove head first into the Paul Saladino life. The “carnivore-ish” life. I cut out every single food aside from fruits, honey, dairy, meat, and occasionally rice and potatoes. Within one week I was better. ONE WEEK.
Though, I suppose I didn’t really fully get answers until realizing that I was misdiagnosed a couple months ago and finding out that basically every issue I deal with is autoimmune related. You can read about that here 👇🏻
So while I am no expert, doctor, healthcare practitioner, etc… I can speak anecdotally about my own experience and the things that I do to combat inflammation in my own body.
